Dash Trim Removal To Access Radio?

I have an 06 F250 SD with the OEM radio with the 6 disc indash CD changer. I need to remove the radio to direct connect a sirius sat radio. I am looking for any step by step pics or instructions to remove the dash trim around the radio. I dont want to make a mess of it or break any of the trim. Any assistance in pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Remove ground from battery. Put key in ignition and turn to run position and shift gearshift to "LOW". Drop steering wheel to lowest position.

GENTLY, pry out the dash trim panel starting at point above steering wheel...(LEFT SIDE). Continue prying out across the dash. (I can just use my fingers -if you use a flat-bladed screwdriver, be gentle) You will now see the bolts holding the radio in the bracket. I forget the size, about 10mm, but using a long 1/4 extension and socket, remove the 4 bolts holding the radio in. I was able to simply turn the radio around at that point and install my antenna/XM adapter without removing radio completely.

Greg, you posted while I was writing!!!!

It's faster to copy and paste than to type out the procedure! LOL

I save that link in my favorites because it is a common question that is asked.

Holy Cow....That was a super-quick and extremely helpful response. Thank you gentlemen for the assist.

Keep it between the ditches...oh wait a minute, we don't have to do that anymore!

How are you connecting to the stock unit? Thru the AUX port with a PIE adapter?? If so you may be able to reach thru the small glove box opening and plug the PIE in without removing the radio. I was able to. It's really tight behind there tho.

I know it's been a few years for this post but I am doing the same thing with my 2006 F-250 and the link above is dead. GregSD or anyone else, is there another link for the dash removal PDF? It would be greatly appreciated. I just received my new receiver and I'm anxious about removing that OEM POS ASAP

Ask and you shall receive. From the Super Duty Tech Folder at the top of the page in the Super Duty Forum:
