Anybody ever removed front coil springs on a 250. I got as far as removing the bottom hold down bolt and now am stuck. Must be metric.Any help would be muchhhh appreciated. Did the pb blaster for the last week. If anyone knows size of bottom nut ??? . Also does this take a special wrench? BTW -Im putting in a set of the 2" spacers for a little lift on my 2 wd. Thanks,

I'm going to be watching this thread with intense interest. I plan to go with a custom 3" spacer from Fat Bob's garage when I do mine.

Pete- Ill let you know -I think I may have bit off more than I can chew but I aint givin up yet. The kit says to have an alignment done afterwards which makes sense. The guy I got the kit from said people normally have this done at a front end shop. I already got the spring compresser from Auto Zone so Im hoping I can get this thing off there.

Be very, very careful with that spring compressor, Bill. Those springs pack a really big punch.... imagine carrying a 1,000 lb. engine on your back and your two legs are the springs... don't want a finger or hand in the wrong place for sure!!

In the industrial world, we call something like that "stored energy", but in layman's terms, they're a "loaded gun".

Did said purveyor of goods not include a destruction sheet?

You do have the suspension at full droop (truck jacked up and supported on both sides at the frame rails) right? shocks/struts loosened?

Brandon- Yes- Both sides jacked up - Shocks loose also -I dont have the right wrench for the coil spring hold down nut- Guess i gotta break down & but a set of open end metrics. My neighbor is a mechanic - I might wait till tonite & see if he can help. Pete- Thats kinda why Im thinking I might back off here for a while and let an expert look @ it. Aint worth getting hurt. Thanks -

I did mine a couple of months back. Sort of remember it was 1-1/8".

Make sure you either take it to a front end shop or get the adjustable caster/camber bushings. I was an ASE certified front end mech a lot of years ago, so I did the caster and camber myself via eyeball and test drive. It only took two attempts to get the caster right.

FYI- you MUST change the caster/camber bushings afterwards. Otherwise, your camber will be very positive, but not in a positive way!
