Smile A GOOD day

Since most of the posts involve something gone wrong I thought I'd post one about things gone right. Actually it started out with something gone wrong; my water pump. I spent a few minutes here looking up a procedure for replacing it and getting psyhed up for doing it myself. Picked up the nessesary parts and a few tools I needed and then popped the hood. The fan nut came loose without a fight (first good thing), everything else came apart with minimal effort and all the parts I got were actually right. The clean up and reassembly went smooth. I decided to clean my EBP sensor and tube since I had such easy access to it and the tube nuts came free without even having to spray them (second good thing). My tube was restricted down to about the size of a pencil lead, but using Guzzle's weed eater line technique it's now wide open. I also cleaned the hole in the bracket and the inlet to the manifold. Reassembly was a breeze. I called the my local dealership and asked about the CPS recall and they told me they not only had a replacement, but if I could get over soon they'd bring it in an do it right away (I have to count this as the third good thing, because I've never gone to a dealership and just gone right in). While there I asked if they could flush the coolant and they not only could, but they were having a special on it (good deal #4). The diesel tech there (a very good guy) noticed that I had lost two bolts out of the turbo housing and happened to have two spare bolts in his tool box. He put them in and the service guy didn't charge me a dime (free parts and labor at a dealership... good items #5 and 6). They also did my yearly inspection (a requirment here) and they didn't find ANYTHING (good thing #7). I left there to get my plate renewed and found out that the state of Missouri had granted a two month extention to my 18K + plates (yep #8). My wife calls and asks if I want to go out to dinner and says she'll buy! (#9) and lastly no leaks from my installation work (#10). Tomorrow morning a tree will probably fall on me when I go to check the mail, but today atleast has been a GOOD DAY.

With that kinda luck on one day..... stay in bed tomorrow, cause Mr. Murphy called and said he was looking for you .

And just to be sure, do not drive through Alabama on your way to Columbus next week b/c I would hate to get caught in the crossfire. (Just Kidding.... I Think)

reps left for having the system work for you

Go buy a lottery ticket... If you win, remember it was my idea. 60% sounds fair.

If I could have just one day like that I would be sooo happy. I have a couple projects this weekend, so we will see.

Good for you, what a way to start a New Year.

Glad to hear you had a near perfect start to the New Year. Hope you didn't use up all of it in one day :-p. Rep Awarded!
