What is the deal with them? I called to 8 different ones here in Charleston and the surrounding counties and they have not even heard of, (or won't admit it)? Are they changing the part number, or some type of specification where they need to get rid of these, or was there a nation wide computer glitch?

Dave:
Here's what I understand happened.
Essentially, AZ decided (apparently at a very high level) to stop carrying the Motorcraft glow plugs (the ZD-10's for '94-'99 7.3L, the ZD-11's for the '94-'03 7.3L, and the ZD-12's for the '03-'07 6.0L). The beginning of that process was when the "local" stores started dropping prices (but we really don't know when THAT started happening)... first to about $5.50 each, then to about $2.99 each, then to about $1.80 each, and the final activity was to drop the prices to $0.01 each which is supposedly their internally determined price at which the products are pulled from the shelves and returned to the main warehouse for credit. Once the penny price was reached, the units were evidently supposed to NOT be sold to the public... just pulled off the shelf and sent back. You see, there are still stores all over the country that are at various levels of that "price reduction"/"product elimination" process.
For a variety of reasons, many AZ stores either did not understand what was happening, have proper communication & training, or did not care enough to follow "proper AZ protocol", and now a whole bunch of us have basically benefited from AZ employee/Manager "mistakes". It was pretty widespread, too, which really does nothing more than make the entire scenario a little more confusing in hind sight.
At least that is the best sense I can make out of all the reports posted here and the things I was told by different AZ store managers.
It now makes me wonder what we would have all done if we had fully understood all of this from the beginning.
