4.2 engine removal problem?

I'm removing and reinstalling a '97 4.2 so, Yes, to removing engine mounts and plenuim. I had one heck of a time getting the fuel lines disconected and the somekind of heater hose quick disconect that didn't. And while I'm at why on earth does the all the intake manifold bolt holes have to be tapped out? Did Fords Tapping machine quit? Bad quality control (Not Job One). I was amazed that they ALL had Very tight/bad holes. bl2009
