headlight switch issue
on my 2000 navigator this happened only today and baffled me, maybe someone can explain.
when i started my truck, the headlights came on, and no the autolamp switch was not on. regardless if i turned the switch to auto, off, parking lamps, or on, the lights stayed on the entire time. it was like i wasn't even turning the switch??? the lights would shut off 20 seconds after i turned off the ignition, like it was stuck in auto mode somehow. i then pulled the switch panel out and all the sudden everything worked fine. i put it back in and so far everything is good now. what gives? any ideas on this in case it happens again? thanks

Gremlins in the electrical system, more than likely in that switch. If it happens again pull the switch again. If that doesn't fix it buy a new switch. Your car was probably manufactured in 1999 and the electrical system is starting to show its age.
