Hotshot V-10 Truck(pictures inside)
Here is a member from another board I'm a member on, I've been meaning to post these pictures on here but I've never gotten around to it. He was one of the firsts to encourage me to buy a V10.
Here's his post from another board:
Here we go again, 38K pounds. It can be done and be done safely, just use common sense! This truck is a stock V10 with a 4R100. I always laugh at people who justify thousands of dollars in mods to their diesels because they don't think todays' stock diesels are powerfull enough! Try 38K in a V10! I don't know how badly over loaded it was, except it was legal with the DOT and I'm still on my ORIGINAL transmission with well over 400K miles on it, so it couldn't have been too over loaded. All but approximately 50K miles were towing big trailers.
Don't drive it hard, respect the loads you are carrying, and be responsible (like, don't drive like a jackass), and you shouldn't have any issues. Airbags will help you have more control over your truck.
BTW, I think I'm selling this one if anyone wants it (pm me so no thread hi-jacking), but I haven't listed it yet. Here's some other loads with it.
LOL, this was before I had 12 feet cut out of it before the axles! Yeah, I was 77 feet long. Talk about hard to turn! It is now the legal length behind a crew cab pick up.

we have a v10 pick up around my home area . tows a 3 car carrier trailer all the time. and many times i see 3 pickup's on the trailer. the rig also has 400k on it but not the original trans. it's as well cared for as yours. so yes the v10 can run as long as a diesel when serviced correctly.

I replaced a rear drive axle spindle (I'm an axle surgeon) on a dodge dually and the owner of the truck had a license plate rated for 65,000lbs. He asked about my warranty on my work and I told him that as soon as he hooked to something requiring the 65,000lb tag to be legal, consider the warranty void.
That being said, yes you can tow a lot with these trucks using either the V-10 or the PSD. Just be sensible as in no popping the clutch, (snaps the axle shafts, usually out by the wheel and it ruins the spindle, then they call me to fix them. Job security for me!) distribute the weight so it isn't too heavy on the truck, and have good brakes, on both the truck and the trailer. But if you need a 65,000lb tag to haul the loads you are hauling, get a bigger truck.

Reminds me of the scene in Jaw's One, when the town police chief said "we're gonna need a bigger boat"
The hotshot trucking industry is a very important and vital part of our economy, so I support you guys. The biggest problem I see is the hitch and frame deflection after a panic stop and the hitch manufacturer and the truck builder running away when the damage occurs. Keep up the good work and get those pump parts to the riggers, we need the fuel.
