My bronco when you got the starter engaged it will run but when you disengage the starter it dies. the fuel pump is on and workin

Check your IAC Motor and Tps signal

Check your ignition module located on the distributor. They're known for going bad.

Does the engine die or the starter disingages?

it will run until starter disengauges
after i posted this it wouldnt do anything so i changed the solnoid and it cranked and ran for about 5 min then it shut off and will only run with the starter engauged.
my son is gone now to have the started tested to see if its shortting out.thanks

check the ignition modual. mine did the same thing a few weeks ago. then it died all together. it was an easy fix, after i tried everything else. good luck.

I had to take a little initiative with the module on my
BII. Because of the location on the 2.9L (rear of engine
between under intake and firewall)which you really have
to lay on top the motor to get to I bought one of the remote
modules mounted that on the fenderwell and wired it into
the regular harness so if the back one goes all I have to
do is plug in the other one.
