95 Ford F150 4.9l engine
I'm thinking of purchasing a 95 F150 with the inline 4.9l, and 70K miles. Does anyone know the H.P. and torque rating for this engine? I believe the truck has 3.31 gears. I plan on pulling a 3,500lbs trailer in mountain areas occasionally. This truck does not have a tow package. Does anyone have any comments on this setup?
Thanks for any inputs.

On the driver's side door jamb is a mylar Certification Label. At the bottom of this label is a row of codes--post the code for "axle", and someone here will decode it for you.
Ford used a 3.55 ratio for their trailer towing package, and I think they used a 3.08 as their standard number.
I have a '77 Avion travel trailer, 4,800-lbs. empty, and the truck with the 3.55 pulled it so-so on level ground, so I switched to 4.10s. You'll probably be OK with the 3.31s, especially if you have an automatic.
