Smile Which brake booster and master cyl to use?

Hi all,

I have a 1974 crewcab 4x4 that I just put new rebuilt dana 60's on.. The axles have new disks brakes and I was wondering if I should use the old style rebuilt master cylinder and booster? Or is another more desireable booster and master cylinder to use with a disk brake setup? .. I would like to just bolt this setup in without any mods...

Oh, forgot to mention that this is a frame up restoration. cab is still off the frame and at the body shop???

You have to get one that related to your year of truck application.

F100,F250 4x4 ?

The mounting changes though the years.

If it was me I would get the 74 F350 booster and make sure you have the power brake pedal assembly to match.
You can find what you need here.

ok, sounds good to me.. Is there a way to determine which booster I have, ie, numbers on the unit?? ect.

I understand there are a lot of variables here.. so, I am trying to stay with in the 1974 f250 series.. I just wanted to get something that would be able to handle disk brakes with ease.

Clicking those links will bring you to the application charts.

One is ford OEM numbers

The other is precision/Bendix corresponding booster numbers.

You will need a used power brake pedal and possible pedal assembly for that pedal.

well, from what I can tell, the booster had the vacum line attached and when I drove it it seemed to have power brakes but, maybe there is a difference between the non power and power brake that I am unaware of.???

I still have the pedal and booster from the old set up.. it seems the booster has a straight push arm that attaches to the lower middle of the brake pedal..

I will look over your links,, Thanks much

The pedal itself should be stamped PWR
