Front door weather strip

The front door weather strip (along the top) pulled off after the last freezing rain. There doesn't seem to be any adhesive used behind the weather strip, should there be? thank you.

It looks like mine doesn't have any on it. I can pull it out, then push it back in. Some clear silicone might be helpful to keep it in place. You can also put something on the surface to keep it from sticking to the door. I've used Vaseline in the past, but some claim that the petroleum base in Vaseline will cause the rubber to dry-rot and crack.

There should be adhesive but that doesn't mean there was from the factory. Silicone won't hold. Go to any good auto parts store and buy good weather strip adhesive. Permatex makes good stuff in back and yellow. The yellow is ugly but works the best in my opinion.
