You're right it was in 2007 and forward..
It is strange that no one can find the solution.

That would involve actual work instead of just asking for a magic fix on a forum.

I understand that SOME of these seat heaters are wired in series. If ONE burns out, neither will heat.

Looks like the same guy just making an account over and over. I know in my car, the heated seats are wired backwards, the passenger control heats my seat, and the reverse is true for the passenger. But it doesn't bother me, There are more pressing things than taking the dash off to reverse the switch.

What would we do if they never invented heated seats? I guess we would still be driving like we had before then, turn the vehicle on, warm it up and then get in and drive... Wouldn't we?

Usually breaking out the voltage meter would be the first thing that comes to my mind. The second would be to check the switch, check the fuse, and then check the main power to the seats. Ohm the heater element.

Once I've exhausted all those options, then I come back with my findings.

Did you not read post #18?

You have to actually DIAGNOSE the problem, then you can repair it.

Most vehicles do have the same problems over and over. But in this case someone is going to have to be the guinea pig and figure it out. I don't know of any common problems with the heated seats, but that doesn't mean much.

My Audi has heated seats, but an 18 year old car, and the seats are still working. The majority of problems are usually electrical, not mechanical. At least that's what I've seen in my experience working on both my vehicles.

Heated seat Both stop working after Battery change

Hi Folks new to the form, I have had this exact problem with my 2003, and I took it to my dealer and for a 150.00 dollars they reset the seat relay. Presto they worked again. Like them to much not to pay the 150 bucks to have them working.

projectSHO89 would possibly be the only one to shed light on this. I think he might actually work with this stuff and may be able to shed some light on "resetting a relay". I suppose they used a scan tool?

Sounds bogus to me. There's no such thing as "resetting a relay" as a maintenance task and there's no relay in the climate controlled seat circuits.

I will say that I'm pretty sure they need to reprogram the EATC because mine are doing the same thing as everyone elses. The only thing I see is the switches light up when the lights are on but the blue or red lights don't turn on at all and I know they were working before changing the battery last time. I'm going to take mine to the dealer and get it checked out soon.

Here is what someone else said.

There's no such thing as "programming the EATC", regardless of what "BernieO" might have said 5 years ago.
