Yeah, I would've gone the minimalist route, but my time machine was on the fritz last year when I got the chance to buy my 99.....it has a lot of stuff I wouldn't have wanted....but it was tough to pass up the deal I got, my only complaint now is, I hate the lariat wheels....other than that, I love my truck

Oh I am for sure!!! I ordered my truck when I was stationed overseas and got all power and no other frills. I have had too many trucks with power lock or window issues and will allways get an XL from now on. With 4 kids and two chessapeake bay retrivers that will jump in any mud hole they can, I like the vinyl seats and carpet delete. If we are not duck hunting, fishing, cutting wood or pulling our 33 foot travel trailer then I am on my motorcycle... she is my chrome wh0re!!!
My truck is a black 09 XL with a v10, 4.30, CC, 8 foot bed, camper package with the upgraged cd player so i could get the mp3 jack.... I tinted my windows bed liner, painted my rims black and put on a grill guard. THe only reason I put the grill guard on is due to my wife taking out saplings I needed the tint in texas heat and the rest of the truck was black so I painted the steel rims to keep the maryland salt in winters off the steel...
I may be moving up to a new 350 w/ the 6.7l for a big *** 5th wheel we may get but I will still get the XL.....

Incidentally, I would imagine that a lot of it depends on what you use the truck for. I daily drive my SD, and it occasionally sees up to ten hour road trips at a time, therefore I wanted all the creature comforts I could get. I also enjoy taking friends out to look at Christmas lights, out to dinner, etc. in my truck, so passenger comfort was a must (which is why I bought a set of aftermarket seat heaters to match the fronts). If you plan on getting the truck really dirty from construction jobs, you might want to opt for vinyl, which is cheap and easy to clean. If it is a real work truck (or you plan on parking it in Florida or Cali for more than ten minutes in the sun), go with cloth. Got a family, get the Crew Cab. Tow a gooseneck, get a long bed. Looking at hauling a large trailer, buy a dually. Want fuel economy and ease of parking, get a single rear wheel/short bed/standard cab. For me, my truck works great, but may not fit other's needs. Then again, I have been accused of having special needs for a long time now.

And Neopolitan, for those of us who have trouble deciding.
