Here's a few for your reading pleasure. Each has slightly differant symptoms and differant problems. Give a little more info on exactly what is happening and when and we'll go from there.

I had that happen to me and it turned out to be a bad pump in the trans. Does it die immediately when you put it in reverse, or can you put the selector in reverse but it dies when you give it throttle, like a clutch on a manual is being let out way too quickly and stalls the engine?
My problem was it felt like a clutch being let out too quickly and stalling it only when I would give it throttle. If it dies immediately when you put it in reverse, my guess is that it's something electrical. If that's the case, I would put the rear up on some jack stands to get the tires off the ground and eliminate the load on them to see if it will even go into reverse with no load. If it dies immediately then, I would start with electrical diagnosis.

Thius could be as simple as low fluild in the tranny. the tranny requires oil to disenguage the torque converter clutch. why it picks on reverse first is unknown, it just seems to show up there. check your fluid level and or do a fluid and filter change. if you change your filter, take some time and break it open. it will tell you alot about the condition of your tranny.
