Should I use a programmer on my truck?

Should I use a programmer on my truck?

I got a 4.2 gas 2007 for f150.
model: STX
I bought one off ebay (ebay #: 260194112478)
im pretty sure it will work on my truck but not entirely sure.
Will someone reassure me or at least tell me that it wont work?

According to the ebay add,,Yes it will work on your truck.
I had the 1715 in my 03 and it was a big improvement.
It had three different tuns. One was a performance tune for 93 octane. That's the only tune I ever used.
You could change your shift points and calibrate your speedo for bigger tiers.
It was nice,,,I liked it.
