I have an 08' F350 PSD 4x4 with limited slip... I was playing in the sand today and the right rear wheel spins in a light sand area on the side of the road. Right rear wheel on sand, left rear wheel on pavement (in 2 wheel drive). Does any one know what the bias is set at or suppose to be? Is the limited slip a weak unit or is it supposed to kick in hard and spin both rear wheels or what?
i have heard some people complain that the limited slip was not working on their trucks and i believe to resolve this is more friction modifier or change the clutch packs in the rear end. Most of the people i have seen this happen to are Job 1 trucks and i have not heard from the job 2 trucks
Thanks for the info Red Dragon, I have a build Job #1 truck (built 7-11-07), I agree with modifier or clutch packs, I might try to do a couple of figure "8"'s before I look at friction modifier...
I took my truck to dealer for this problem. They tightened the unit up but I still feel the unit is very loose.
The dealer says Ford sets the rear end up very loose so people will not compain of chatter around corners.
hey Tom i still think the dealership sold you a Lemon man, I know the guidelines say no legal advice but i can say Call Ford Customer Care and complain till they get you a new truck
