Slave Cylinder
How is the external slave cylinder held in place on 1983 Ranger with 5 speed and a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder.it goes into a cut out on the bell housing. but I havent been able to identify the clip or cover that holds it in place. if someone has the part number i would really help in my search.

That's a good question... I think I read that there's a special tool to get in there and free it but maybe there's a way around it. Hopefully someone chimes in who has done it. I know when I took the 2.3Li & 5 speed out of my '90, I got around it by disconnecting everything and bringing the cylinder and reservoir out still attached to the trans. Didn't have to cut anything. Never did disconnect it...
