This site is too old and doesnt show the step by step. My pump is now leaking so it looks like replacement time. Anyone know of a current site with a step by step?

Go to the post right above yours with the link. Click the link, it takes you to page 2, and go back to page one and then look at the 4th post down. Good instructions.
The only thing I can add is that I have split all the shrouds on my trucks when I do it. I split them top and bottom and get them out of the way, and then wire tie them back together when I am done. I use an air chisel or a wrench if I can find one for the fan.

So I tried it and within 15 seconds I had his fan off. That trick worked like a charm for me. Hope this helps
This is how I was going to do it when the time comes. When I last checked my pump the nut looks like someone had already done the air chisel trick on it before.

Question

Going to be attempting this in a few hours for the first time. I think I am going to flush the coolant because I had to put in a gallon of tap water to get home last night- do I have to use distilled water or can I use tap water to flush? Plan on using the gold coolant.

Wal-Mart has distilled for 78 cents /gal. Something about the tap water, leaving deposits, calcium...etc, in the system.

After flushing with tap water I use distilled for the final flush.

This might be overkll but I cut the center out of the old t-stat and put it back in so I could get a good engine running full circulaton flush without having to wait for the t-stat to open. Did that once with tap water and a second time with distilled.

I didn't see this video link in the thread so here it is.
