There are so many kits now I don't know where is the best. I know they mentioned a few places they had good luck with in this thread.

I haven't bought any yet so I can recommend any place.

Lots of my friends have them and love them though.

I just put the Sliverstars in my fog lights and drive with on all the time in the dark I have no problems seeing the road. I didn't know Sliverstar made a bulb for 9008 models?

Purple would require 12000K or 14000K bulbs. Xenonlink doesn't have them on their site. Personally, I think that's way out there and you'll be killing your ability to see. That's IMHO, of course...

Last year they came out with the Silverstar H-13, which is the same as the 9008 bulbs.

They were supposed to be working on them, but I have found that I have yet to need high beams. I have wanted to flash someone and couldn't, but other than that I have had no regrets at all. Some guys think they can't live without high beams, and that may be true. I can say that these are much brighter than stock, so I believe Xenonlink's website is correct when they say this:

Upon installing our kit, you will lose your hi beam unction. However, a lot of our customers are willing to give up their hi beam function because with the HID lo beam, it actually covers enough lighting. We do not have the hi/lo for the 9007, 9004, and H13 HID bulb, because the bulb base is too small to mount two HID bulbs on it.

Finally! Thank you for chiming in. I have referred a lot of people to hidplanet to do their own research. That is where I found all of the information to do my retrofit.

Izzy351, I really appreciate the help, but Im still a little confused. Is the purple discharge less usuable, in terms of lumens given off (light)? Is that what you mean? If so, which rating is the most usuable. (ie white, blue, purple)

Not to be a wet blanket, and I may be incorrect, but I believe that I've read somewhere that the HID's are illegal to install and run unless your truck (or car) came with that as an option to begin with.

Anything over about 4300K you begin to lose usable light. I was running 6000K in my car, they are a bright white blue color. They look great, but they def lose light compared to the stock 4300K. All cars that come with HID projectors come with 4300K bulbs. Anything over 8000K is down right dangerous

Anyone know the penalties for running HIDs?

Would the harley lights fit my xl? Or the factroy jeweled headlights for that matter? Is it a simple bolt-on or would it be a wiring nightmare?

I have been looking into after market housings that look just like the glass sealed beam xl lights. The allow you to use an H4 bulb.

just found this site:

I see sylvania and hella make a 6054. They are supposed to be twice as bright. I like those Sealed beam HIDs as well. I don't know if I can justify 500-1000 bucks though.
