Hey Ross, Thanks for posting that pic of my truck!

Thanks to all for the compliments. I wish all who enter good luck. I hope a 48-60 truck wins. We've got a great forum.

55- LOL... Yeh, I saw that sign after I took the shot. I was looking for a place that looked vintage and old as a background. I figured it was still OK with the sign since the old truck is exempt from smog checks and has an engine that wouldn't meet smog standards anyway. I didn't think anyone would notice?

Here's my entry. It is a 1948 F-7 with the original 337 flathead and 5 speed transmission.

Thanks
The contest is in the general discussion forum - you'll see it when you go there.

EVERY picture in that thread (in the GDF) is an entry - we do a weekend "PICK TEN" vote at the far end, and add them up to see who got what, with maybe a tie breaker if there has to be one.

And then the top ten are put on a poll thread in the same forum.
There is almost a month to get entries in, IN THE GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM THREAD, and then the fun begins!!!

NOTE: Only put one picture in each post - we vote by post number. But you can post more than once, got it?

I thought of that. I thought of putting those foam pipe insulators on the runners but that is pretty ****. But I made sure only one runner touched the truck and it was against the running board which are not perfect anyhow. I actually stand on these running boards!

I kind of thought "EEK!" myself, I know those metal runners from when I was young in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and couldn't help thinking OUCH!

The runners on that sled are only touching the running board. It's standing too straight to contact body paint. That's my bet.......

Yes, only one runner touched the running board. But, that sled and my truck have had a run in before. Two winters ago the sled was standing up in my garage. I bumped the sled and it fell into the right front fender... I tried to grab it but it fell away from me and I could not catch it. Now the nut that attaches to the bolt that keeps the steering thing on hit the fender and it slid down and to the front of the truck. It left a scratch down the side of the fender, which I had to get repainted for a wedding last year.

Nice Picture Bigwin. I Like The Picture In Your Gallery Of The Truck Sitting Next To The Barn Also. Kinda Nostalgic.

I predict a sweep for the 48-60 forum in this contest! Those new-fangled trucks just don't have our charisma!

PS -- chance of snow tonight, so I may get to enter a pic of miine with the white stuff!

I tossed in a pic of mine taken about Christmas time a year or 2 ago.. debated about rolling it back out this next weekend to snap another pic (hmm.. I do have a set of shotgun shell Christmas lights I could hang off the grill guard)... my only concern would be getting it back up the driveway and into the garage... that thing ain't light and its uphill into the garage.. who knows, but it may be worth a try.
