302 running on 6 cylinders HELP

alright. to explain my dillema i took the spark plugs off the sockets but still able to jump the gap. one by one i pulled the spaek plugs off and ive come to the conclusion: #8 and #3 are dead. The wires are sending the charge, the spark plugs are getting the spark (i hooked the wire to an older used spark plug) but when i swap plugs thinking they are dead plugs, the cylinders are still not contributing. any help with this would be appreciated

Pull the plugs and do a compression check.
