Just wondering where everyone has their high speed idle set at. I have mine set at 1500 RPM on first step when warm. I find that I have to turn the idle speed up come winter. Do you call the first step the highest point on the cam, or the first of many drop down steps? Just wondering if mine is set correctly, I usually have to adjust mine 2-3 a year(dependant on weather conditions). Oh, almost forgot since we are on this subject, where does everone have their idle speed set at(400-800?)
Before I rebuilt my carb it was set at about 2500. I always thought it seemed high. Then during the rebuild I followed the directions and set it appropriately. Now it cold idles at about 1500. Muuuuuch better!
When i tap the gas it revs to about 1800 then i quickly kick it down and it goes to 1100 but slowly increases as the choke comes off to about 1300 then you can kick it down to normal idle.
