Do you have to remove the distributor to pull the intake?

Do you have to remove the distributor to pull the intake?

I was thinking bout putting a 4 barrel on my 400.

You don't but it makes it a lot easier.. the stock intake is really heavy and will have little issue breaking your distributor with a slight slip. Plus the front seals are right behind the distributor and the prypoint is behind the distributor.

I would try to lift it backwards towards the firewall.. There is a lip on the intake that will catch the distributor housing if it's not pushed backwards before pulling it out.

basically, yes you can do it if you're careful.. but it's much easier to just remove the distributor.

He's right, it can certainly be done, but it is easier with it (distributor) out.
