Years back a "doctor" requested Workman's Comp for permission to operate on my left knee even though I had about 20 visits for him to check out my right knee.

I have had five surgeries in the last 16 years (and another one coming up) and every time the doctor has come into the pre-op room (before anesthesia) and marked with a permanent marker the correct spot for the surgery. Left shoulder, right shoulder, right arm, back, neck. They should get the elbow right, I'll be awake for that.

The only time I didn't get marked up was for the vasectomy. Guess they figured there wasn't much sense in marking them since they did both sides anyway.

BTW, $50,000 fine? There should be three doctors without licenses and a whole bunch of others without jobs for those F-ups.
