Tire size limit with fenderwell headers

I'm using L&L fenderwell headers on my 78 F250,and have heard that larger tires will hit the headers,I'd like to run 38-40 inches.Maybe someone out here has experience with this,I would think you could change backspacing.

I turned my steering stops out all the way & still had to weld a nut on to the stop to get enough. It still turns plenty sharp enough with 42's.

i use hedman fenderwell exit headers on my 77 with a 400. It's got 44" tires on it, and they used to rub a little on a full turn, but i think i whacked them enough times that they're bent out of place now because it doesnt do it anymore.

My 38's hit my fenderwell L&L's. I just backed out the steering stops until they did't hit anymore.

4" Lift w/ 35's rub

I've got a 79 F250 w/ dana 44 and 4" lift with 35" tires, and rub quite badly on 460 L&Ls, especially on driver side. I've bought some wheels with less backspacing to try to eliminate some of the rub but haven't mounted them yet.

I'm still in project stage right now,but thats what I'll try.I dont want to lose alot of turning radius by running the limit bolts all the way out.

this really isnt on topic, but its something that i didnt know which some of you might like to know...

dont break your engine in on new ceramic coated headers or it will void your warranty and they will not keep as nicely as if you had done it properly.
