For the past week or so, I have noticed that the drivers side headlight on my 350 doesnt turn on when I start my truck...I thought at first it was just a bulb, no big deal. But after about ten minutes of driving, it comes to life. Also, if I turn the lights off then back on again, the bulb will light up. I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but the drivers side headlight housing has gotten a little foggy as well. I'll probably just end up taking it back to the dealer this week but I want to sort it out soon.
Has anyone noticed how terrible the light output of these lights is? Without my fog's on, I can't really see too much at night. The output is just dismal at best. I ordered an HID conversion kit for the headlights and the fogs, but I want to get the light problem fixed before the dealer says aftermarket lights messed up my headlight....
Where did you get the HID headlight kit- I'm not happy with my headlights either and want to upgrade them. I'm spoiled with the xenon headlights on my Audi...
Just a word of warning, the HID will give you brighter lights but not a better range. I went throught this with bulb upgrade, fried and a bulb connector. My wife has a Toyota forerunner and the lights are 10 times better. Main reason is the reflector. That is why F250 lights suck. Check out F150 lights/lense.

I got better range with my upgrade! Lost high beams because it is a dual filament bulb, but don't really need them either. Just better light all around. I have 10k bulbs, but wish I had 5.7k or so.I don't care for the blue look.
I have an 05 F250. Hate the lights to no end, espeacially when I jump into my wifes 04 Forerunner. No comparison to say the least. The only thing I can do is go to off-road lights which doesn't do anything for everyday use. It's all about the reflector in the headlight. If you look at Toyota, or even a new F150, the reflector is round which acts like a parabola to focus the light. The F250 is a broader reflector which doesn't concentrate the beam what so ever. So you always end up overdriving your lights.

Do you have an F-250 XL?
If you have the XLT aero lights, I would check to see what the voltage drop is across your lights. You may not be getting full voltage to them.
My 2007 XLT has great lights. It doesn't equal my wife's 2007 Murano with HID, but the lights work very well to light up the back roads on a dark night here in Wisconsin. They were vastly superior to the lights on the 2003 Crown Victoria we recently traded.
I may need to check the voltage across the headlights because they are just plain dim. When I put the fogs on, they look/seem 3 times brighter from inside the cab. Maybe it is a coincidence that I had a plow installed last month, but i'm not sure. I will have to look for the relay mentioned above as well. I should be getting my HID conversion kit this week. I ordered an H13 dual filament bulb so I will have the high and low function. I'm not sure if it is actually a dual filament or if the bulb socket has a solenoid in it that actually moves the bulb up and down(a friend of mine has a set-up like that) or if it has a "shield" over the bulb that moves when you activate the high beam function. The kit is a 6000k 55w digital slim ballast set-up. I ordered a similar kit for one of my cars and the light output is absolutely incredible. They were a little on the pricey side for the 350, but I was told it is due to the fact that they are high and low. If I recall, around $400 for this set. I have seen sets on ebay for around $100 or so, but I want to be able to pick up the phone and talk to somebody if I have a problem. I bought these lights from a supporting vendor of bimmerforums, Bavarian toys. He was a great guy to deal with, been in business for quite some time, and has a great reputation among the boardmembers there. I will update everyone when I get the kit and post some pics..
