Is is a 223 or a 233? Reason being, there's a very nice offy dual intake on Ebay (search Ford 300) that's been incorrectly described. You should double check this, but you maybe able to get in on a decent deat seeing anyone with a 240 or 300 should be smart enough not to bid on it. 
Starting off with a nice set of dual carbs and performance intake is a start to your build up.
