Unhappy I'm locked out of a FREE '89 BII

Neighbor has given me the OK to farm his '89 BII for parts for my '87 Eddie Bauer BII. problem is he has lost the keys and it is locked tight. Any suggestions on how to either get the doors open or pop the hood? I want to do some swapping over the holiday weekend.

If I was closer I could airbag it or use the slimjim-heck I may have a Ford master key to fit if I looked.
So, the only thing I can suggest is a coat hanger up close to where the lock pin at the top side of the door would be. If you go lower, you're going to have to push the mechanism (toward the hinges).

On a Side note....I have a Ocala trip coming between now and Sat. nite...

i locked my keys in it once, i used a coat hanger between the door frame and the body, with a hook bent in the end to grab the door handle on the inside,. when you pull the door handle, it should unlock the door like the driver unlocking the door from the inside.

almost forgot to mention, go on the latching side, away from the hinges for the best pulling angle

Pull the lock out of the hatchback with a pry bar, clamp onto the rod with a needle nose vise grip, and unlock the hatch.

I used a hole saw and drilled out the access so i could pull the release to open the tail gate. Now I have lots of 2.9 engine goodies!

Guess we can kill this thread now.
