97 F150 vs 2007 yota

My friend bought a brand new 2006 v6 2wd extended cab automatic tundra. He has had it for about 20,000 miles now and just thought I would compare it to my 1997 F-150 4.6L 4x4 with 215,000 miles.
Seats:
Neither of them are great but the yotas are a little more comfortable. (I have the 40/60 captin bench w/ lumbar on drivers side. Same design in his truck but much more plush and supportive)
Transmission:
nice firm, quick, low rev shifts in the yota.
Sloppy, slow, smooth, very high rev shifts in my 4R70W F-150.
Ride:
Yota has a much smoother ride but it is 2wd and mine is 4wd. I prefer a firm ride of a truck over a soft car like ride.
Power:
Sadly I must say his v6 will out run my truck at any speed and get 22 mpg at every fill up while doing it.
While his is much faster with 26 more hp and the truck weighs less im sure, my 4.6L is rated for about 2,000 pounds more trailer weight.
Interior:
My F-150 is much much bigger inside and feels like ford uses higher quality materials. I am 6 feet 215 pounds and my truck is the only one I can turn a bottle straight up to finish off the last little bit and not hit the roof. His yota Dad's 04 F150 my old ranger... mine is the only vehicle I have found so far.

Not that any one cares about this. Just thought I would compare the 2 totally different trucks. Besides I am procrastinating doing school work... its what I do best.

I had a 97 F150 SCAB 4x4 4.6 (ordered it new - one of the 1st off the line) that a sold a few years ago with 168,000 miles. Ran like a top.

I regret selling that truck. It burned about a quart of oil per oil change but never lft me standing, and did everything I wanted it to do.

Now that I'm a bit older, I feel stronger about the "keep it until it falls apart" mantra.

That 97 was a great truck.

I didn't buy your truck did I? I bought this one about 3.5 years ago with 168,000 on it. Its an XLT w/ keyless entry. It was one of the very first ones was manufactured in 1996. What color was yours and did you sell it in SC?

Uh...The thread title refers to a 2007 Toyota Tundra, but you said your friend bought a 2006.

The 2006 version of the Tundra is a completely different truck from a 2007.

ha that would of been some kind of a coincidence, oh well.

Yeah I realized that right after I posted it but did not know how to fix it....

But if you were disappointed I can assure you the 07 would be superior to my 97 in every aspect.

Nah.

Yours is a Ford.

On a serious note, keep in mind your pickup is 4x4. You can go places his truck can't. Plus you have 2x the traction.

I'd rather have an old 4x4 reliable Ford than some 07 toy.
