Who thinks its worth it?

How many of you think it is worth it to ditch the dpf and all that junk to get your fuel mileage back?

going to wait until warranty expired, then look at what is working the best. Give the after market a chance to work it out

What is the difference in mileage with and without the dpf? I would hate to take the sawsall to my exhaust and void the warranty only to find out my mpg only went up by a couple of points.

From what I have heard and read on here, the DPF does not chew up that much horsepower, if any, and the MPG aren't affected.

I read it in a post where a vendor that sells tuners was talking about how they dyno tuned their 6.4 w/ the dpf and all that then w/out it and saw almost 0 gain in HP.

I thought emissions warranty was longer, or are you just concerned about powertrain?

From what I took from other threads I thought that it did get better gas mileage.

You should see better MPG however without the DPF do to the elimination of regen and the elimination of the EGR system. Hp & Torque gains would be minimal at best but MPG should go up 1-2 MPG.

Just an FYI, this will take a tuner with Custom programming to allow the elimination of the DPF.

I will not touch the DPF until the warrenty is done. Buy then there should be a viable option to improve mileage and horse power that is proven. With the twin turbo package, I believe things will get exciting in a year or so.

For many I suspect, the same reason they traded for a new truck, will cause them to want to trade again in the future for a new one.
The lowest hassle, cheapest, while retaining your warranty method of maintaining trade in value will likely be to just leave it alone.
