You all got my attention.

I have just read most of the comments in regard to the 2008 6.4 fuel mileage. It seems it really is not great. I'm driving a 2000 250SD 6 speed and tow 13000# trailer a lot. ie: about 50,000 miles since '02. Just took a trip 4000 mi from GA to NY and back and averaged slightly better than 10 MPG.

Guess I'll keep what I've got.

Thanks guys

I am waiting for delivery of my new 2008 F350 SRW CC LB 3.73 and while I would like good fuel economy I will forsake it for a quality truck.

In saying that my 2005 F350 DRW CC LB 3.73 pulling a 15,000 5ver got 10 mpg or better as well. If you move up at least consider the 6.0.

That seems about the same as the new 6.4. I pull a 48 foot enclosed trailer with 2 cars in there and average about 10 miles to the gallon.

I have an 08 F350 quad cab, dually, 4x2 with 4.30 gears and auto trans. 27k miles on it today (11-10-2007), date purchased 9-10-2007

50,000 miles of towing since 02? I've got 235,000 on my 02. If you pull up a bunch of steep grades then the 6.4 will run circles around the 7.3. (assuming everything is stock)

If your interested in fuel economy then you won't do any better with a newer truck. The newer model motors have more stock HP/Torque but lower MPG ratings.
