Thinking of buying used Superchips??

Has anyone done this? The guy said it was never hooked up to a vehicle, but I dont think that he has the paperwork for the unit. It is for the v10 (model 1715). Is there a code or something that must be put into the superchips to identify the vehicle?? I can get it cheap but that dosent mean that I will be able to use it, you know> Thanks

I run a Superchip 1705 in my 01 7.3 SD diesel. Each of the programers is set up for specific vehicles. In other words my programer would not work on a V10. You didn't say what type of vehicle you are going to use the 1715 on, if it is a V10 then it should work. Go to the Superchip home page and do a little reading, you should be able to determine what programer goes with your truck. If you still have questions call them, they are happy to answer your questions about their products.
I ordered a DP F5 chip yesterday and will be using my Superchip programer only for a code reader soon. Can't wait for it to get here!!!!
Good luck,
Hal

I just bought a Superchip Max Tuner for my 7.3 Excursion, and the difference between stock and now is great. It runs like a new motor. Wish I had bought it last year, and the MPG is 19-22 around town.

I just bought a used Superchips Flaspaq 1815 for $200 on ebay. The guy told me that it's NOT VIN LOCKED so, hopefully I won't have a problem.
