I just replaced front pump due to going **** up, and fuel sender quit sometime back. I put 92' fullsize Bronco tank in back for extra cap., and works great. Well when I first installed front pump and sender (OEM) $135.oo bucks later, (my shops cost). The pump would engergize and shut down w/ KOEO (as designed)and then would run when truck was started(as designed). But after taking it for a ride, it quit running, but sender shows it has gas. which is acurate now. I can switch to back tank and it'll pick back up and go on as it normally should. New relays about 2 months ago, new selector switch when I did front pump", Also been thru all the grounds that I know of.
Thanks in advance for any help.
not getting away from your main topics....but let me ask you... would i be able to do the same upgrade to my back tank since it isnt working and i figure what the heck. i have an 89 ford f150 and i dont know if it would make a difference between 150(mine) and 350(urs) in doing this....and how much did it cost you tank install and all...tanks for any help im been looking into increasing gas capacity and just didnt know how
Here's what I did, bought it from a local yard. 92' fullsize bronco tank, pump, and skid pan which acts as straps too. Its got the updated version pump and sender and almost bolts in place. Hose connections are the same, the elec. connector is the same. Pump pressure sare the same. Just gotta use the rollover/vent valve that comes w/the Bronco tank. I paid about $85 bucks for the whole thing.
1) The holes are already in the frame of your truck,
2) I used 1 1/2"in spacers and 2"in bolts, for the front and the two outter front holes in the skid pan,
3) I used 9"in allthread rod for the two back outter holes and bent into a semi-Z
4) Leave the upper straps from original tank in place
I was under the truck and listened to the pump run, as the truck starts stalling out the pump is still running. What is the piece on the inside of the frame that both tank fuel (4)lines run into, then go out w/ two lines out to the front. Is it possible that the lines going into this piece from the front tank is clogged.
