I am looking to repower my 2001 explorer sport-it was built in 02/00. When I look at the reman engine sites they specify interchange with a cutoff build date of 7/23/00 for the Sport and Sport Trac. After 7/24/00 build date they seem to be different-does anyone know why? I have a low mileage 4.0 SOHC from a 2002 Sport available cheap and want to see if it will fit. This July change has me concerned-
