AOD cable, Factory or aftermarket?

Hey guys, I have an 86 ford 150 that in another life had a very worn out efi 302 with AOD. I put in a 302 that had been "perked up" a little. I'm not sure which cam was installed, as I bought the engine from another individual that built it. He told me all the specifications but I have since forgotten, as it was several years ago.
The problem was, it was not compatible with the computerized efi and ran really rough. Being from "old school", I choose to remove the efi and go with a carb.
I used Edelbrock with Holly 600. The question is, is there any way to use the original TV cable with the Holly carb, or will I have to find an aftermarket cable?
Thanks,
Bob

AOD Cable

Bob,
Contact the guys at Lokar. I think they will have what you need to get you fixed up.

Throttle bodied vehicles with AOD's came with a TV rod, port injected vehicles used the cable.

Thanks guys, I have contacted Lokar and they do have what I need but they are really proud of it. I was hoping someone else had ran into the same problem as me and found a way to use the original cable, since I already have it. I think I can build a mounting bracket for it to connect to the carburator, given enough time, but it sure would be nice to know a short cut if there is one.
Thanks for the get back. I appreciate it.

Bob,
Lokar parts are not real cheap, but they are "quality" parts which work quite well.
I put an AOD in my '64 Galaxie 500 XL and used Lokar parks and was very pleased with the end result.
Good luck.

I'll probably end up buying one from Lokars, but I'm going to make an effort to build one. I'm big on using stuff I've got on hand. I think I've rounded up enough "junk" to build the bracket, if I can just convince myself to do it.
Thanks for all the input. It's appreciated

You would be better off in the newer section of this forum as 67-72 had no AOD and cable linkage just good old transmissions with solid shift linkage.

Bob,
I will take some pics of my configuration this weekend from the carb to the AOD Transmission and the foot pedal too.
