speedometer ques

my speedometer reads about half the speed im actually going and barely reads any milage, it read 2 miles for 7, the gear is on i fixed that last weekend cause it asnt working, it has a 3 speed manual, the gear is white nd the tires are 15 inch and i think the rear diff is 2.75. ny one got an idea why its not working right.

Check both ends of cable as well as the spots it goes into and see if any of it is slipping. Did you check the gear that is in the trany{the one that is mounted on the output shaft}some times if one gear gets worn/bad it will damage the other gear, hope this helps, Mike

both ends were still square, didnt seem as if they were slipping, the gear n the end looked fine, i had to reattach it cause the clip had came off, but it looked fine when i had it out.
