Aftermarket overflow
This is about a '90 e-150 with the 300 EFI.
Okay I recently bought the van, and about a month ago I all of a sudden noticed this electrical sound, like the type of faint-clicking sound a hard drive makes. I couldn't figure it out till I noticed it matched the rpm's of the engine, at first I thought maybe the distributor was being noisy but once I started looking for the noise it was coming from the dashboard.
Now this is probably a dumb question but on my van where is the computer? My Haynes manual is useless about this. There is a grill on the center of the dash that I thought was a speaker hole, but there's a heavily heat-sinked thing stuck on the other side. Is that the computer? because I think it's been making the noise. Anyone hear this before? is it normal? is it even the computer? I'm thinking it must be the injector pulses I'm hearing then, since it slows/increases in sync with rpms, but why did it start all of a sudden?
Anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks for any info!
