Rear DVD Remote from front seats

08' exp: Should'nt my remote for the DVD ent sys work from the front seats? Looks like FORD purposely faced the infrareds to the rear so it doesn't.

Alot easier functionality available via the remote - doesn't make sense that it shouldn't work.

If you have the Nav system you can control most features from that.

You should be able to do basic features like skip ahead, etc. from the HU. The F150 i had was similar, you had to reach your arm backwards to get the remote to work. They don't put the sensors up front because why spend the money if the option is not installed. This way the system is self contained so to speak.

I think sensors on the back (facing the driver) of the unit would help - u could just aim the remote backwards and it would work.

On the HU, all you really have is play/pause and fwd/rev. Yes you can do it - but talk about bare bones.

Yeah, I know. The problem I had was those darn DVD's with all the stupid trailers. Unless you hit the menu button, you have to sit through all of them. I just rip the movie to my comp and take out all the b.s. and then burn them.

I always assumed that they don't really want the driver messing with the DVD while driving, due to safety reasons and the likelihood of a crash.
