Since I have Big Red down for some paint work I finally got the T shifter handle installed now I will feel alot better about rippin through the gears and not having it come off in my hand.
NICE!
Now how the heck did you get the ball handle off of that stick??!?!??!?!
Mine is on there so tight it feels like it was forged with the handle.
My guess is that it would have to be cut off. I just install a new stock one on mine because I got tired of the aftermarket one that was on the truck when I bought it. The factor ones just "press one" I had to beat it against the concrete floor to get it on all the way.
If they are made out of that plastic or bakelite material, I use to get them off by heating in the oven for awhile...the ball would just pull off with a twisting motion.

Dan mine had a aftermarket boy racer **** on it when I bought the truck it rattled and drove me nuts so I changed to another aftermaket ( I thought would be better ) and it came apart causing my broken rocker arms. Both of those were held on with 3 set screws. The end of the shaft is splined where the **** is pressed on . The hardest part of the job was grinding down the end of the shaft to the right size to run the die down it.
I enjoyed the meeting and the lunch anytime your coming our way give us a call maybe you can meet some of the other chapter members . I might even fire up the grill. I hope that the rest of your trip was uneventful and went as planned.
I have an 84- F-250 4x4 that I did the same thing too. Mine sports the Red/B&M logo. As Dave mentioned. Used a grinder to get the proper size, in order to run a die down, then just screw it down and tighten the back-up nut. Good Job Dave Looks great. Country
Only going to Dallas next year, but I'll eventually be passing your way again, and I'll still be driving my 7.3. Trust me. It's indestructible, and it's not going anywhere! They'll bury me in this one!
NICE!

Mine came off when I was smoking an Escalde. Not a good feeling when you shift into second and the ball comes off. It was quite interesting shifting threw the rest of the gears. Ball or not the Powerstroke got her point across!!
