Nitrate Levels??? Little Help

Hey Guys - Checked my coolant and ph was between 8 and 9- Freeze point - minus 30 and nitrate between 200 and 500 on the color chart. Truck is new to me about 6 months ago, anyway my question is should I recharge per bottle or drain and refill.? I dont know the history of coolant change. Got about 78,000 on the clock. Also could this be original green coolant in there? Thanks, Bill

Your 2002 should've had the gold stuff. Mine does... pH sounds about right -- nitrates look a bit low. At this point, I would say it's up to you whether or not you want to go back to the gold that should've been in there, or stick with the green stuff and service it often. But I think you need at least to add some additive. What did your test kit instructions say? They usually have a chart or something that tells you what you need to do.
