Im not too familar with the "old" motors(5.0 and 5.8) but it probably came with the 4r100 tranny, which is a pretty decent tranny. I would blue book it to see if your getting a good deal first, other than that just check stuff out. Like rust, worn components(ujoints, axles, etc.), and what the fluids look like esp. the tranny.
It's either an E4OD or a C6. 1999 was the first year for the 4R100. Without inspecting it myself I can gaurantee that it will last between 1 mile and 1,000,000 more miles. I can't narrow it more than that.
I havve seen some of these trans go a long, long way. I've also seen some that didn't last long at all.
Well i took the truck for a test drive again and i took it to my house and i checked the bolt pattern 20 bolts and the shape in the mag i have its a E4OD trans, while driving very smooth shifting fluids smell and look good, so my assumption is that i can go bout 80k miles before i have a serious problem. Would love to hear what you guys have to say.
like a woman,,you really dont know what they are like until you marry them. i lost my crystle ball. anyone can ask an unanswerable question and that is what you have done.
