Oil leak '08 6.4L?

First post here after buying my '08 6.4L F-250 Supercab in August. My truck has an oil leak up near the front of the motor. The Ford dealer has attempted repairs twice, last time removing basically the front components of the motor and replacing a gasket around the oil pump (I would have to get the repair ticket to get the exact parts replaced), and the truck is back in the shop now for a third attempt at repair on the same leak. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem, and if so, what was the fix? Thanks for any help.

I have not heard or seen any post with regards to an oil leak like the one you have. I have seen a few oil leaks around the turbo and one rear main seal but thats about it. Sounds like there could be a bad casting that wont seal.

Seem to remember a post about a fellow who had a similer problem with the gerotor pump cover. He stated that Ford had redesigned the cover and replaced his with the newer cover correcting the problem

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the quick reply! The geroter oil pump cover is exactly the area where the leak is now. I know they replaced a seal / gasket on the last repair which was probably this gasket. If the cover was redesigned, maybe that needs to be replaced. Again, many thanks - cool forum! I'll report back if anyone is interested....

Is there any way to identify the old design from the new design while the cover is installed? Or a better question would be: has this been resolved with the Job2 trucks?

Noticed the same problem on my F350 today while doing the oil change. I've had it now a month and a half with 20k miles on it today. Guess it'll be going in soon.

Thanks, nipperdog. I checked that thread and it seems to be the same problem. My truck has been in the shop for 2 whole days now and I didn't get a call from service manager today, like I was expecting. I was tied up in meetings this afternoon until after the service dept. closed and didn't get a chance to call them. I will be speaking to them tomorrow and post the status. Thanks again.

I had similar problem, dealer replaced rear main seal and still was leaking, so they done a dye test were they dyed the engine oil yellow to see it under uv light and the actual oil pan had a crack all the way up the rear of the pan, looks as if it were bumped when installed against frame too hard, that was over 40K ago and shes still dry. SO FAR

I hope your leak is this easy. Mine was a leak from the oil drain tube on the turbo. Was in the shop for a week-and-a-half. They had to pull the cab off.
