Ford 2.8L to 4.0L swap

Just curious whats involved electrically speaking! The vehicle I want to do this swap in is a 1977 Triumph TR7 I converted years ago using a 2.8L v6, 4spd and 7.5" rearend from a 1977 ford capri the motor is getting tired and I thought of trying to swap the 'larger' 4.0 along with a T-5 in its place. I know I have to change my existing mounts and swap my tank to FI standards. My major concern is the more complex electrical system on these motors. Can anyone give me some help? Or should I just get the 2.8L rebuilt?? Thanks

In short, get the 2.8 rebuilt. Or if your looking for something a little more involved, get a megasquirt and do it that way. The 4.0 engine harness requires the ranger/explorer head light harness and it can be a mess to sort everything out, it would be easier to just make a clean looking harness and run it off of a megasquirt.
