Well Im having this same problem, I read through all the links and I cant see mine, there doesnt seem to be anything behind the radio that I can see.
Can someone tell me how the radio is removed from these trucks??

I found mine right on the firewall about the same height as the ashtray. There was insulation in front of it so the module wasn't visible until I moved the insulation out of the way, and then I needed a mirror and a flashlight to read the code.

mine was up real high behind the ashtray on a white sticker.. i mean real, neck KRINKING high!

It should be a couple of little "U" shaped tools, available at Wal-Mart by the car stereo installation accessories. They look like this:
