Spartan “Aggressive Race” Plus MBRP Turbo Back Equals – WAHOOOO!!

Ok, I finally broke down and threw on a MBRP turbo back. It took SIX HOURS, but it was worth every knuckle busting minute….

Out with the old. The instructions said the tailpipe would come out no problem, but mine had that extra "harley" tip which completely screwed me. i had to hack it off.

70 pound box of pipes.

i bought the Aluminumized cause I'm a cheap SOB. Saved $400 bucks so i splurged on a $4 can of high heat paint.

Sprayed up and ready.

New down tube installed. That spring clamp was a complete bitch to get at and get off!!

No more Kitty.

Skinny. Pardon the finger prints. not worries they will BURN OFF soon!!

Now, the only thing that is NOT rusty under there.

Two best mods i can think of.

please check out this link for a video comparison of the before and after. Believe me; you have to hear it in person to appreciate the new sound. Way cool!!

Before and after video: HERE

With the agressive race tune and the new exhaust, you just can NOT keep you foot out of the go peddle. If you are on the fence Please take my advice and DO these mods.

wheres your guages???
I would like to see the pics of before and after w/ the charcoal grill paint in a week of driving please.
matt, I never got my spartan stickers yet...
BTW, you do not need to hack any of the exhaust pipes, the DP comes out if you move the trans dipstick tube and remove the trans cross member, and the tailpipe will come out if you let the rear suspension hang.

I forgot to mention the best part….

On our “maiden voyage” the kids and I blew the ever luvin’ doors off some bald dude in a late model ‘Stang.

His quarter window was FULL of stickers (Jegs, Edelbrock, etc). Too bad those stickers didn’t make him go faster!!! At least he was lucky enough NOT to be on my SMOG side.

Although, he DID get taunted by all three of my kids – HAHA. He decided to cross three lanes of traffic to pull into a supermarket lot he ‘suddenly’ needed to get to.

Columbus, just outside the belt. Just stick your head out the window, you'll hear me. Kidding.

Actually, I am pretty happy with the sound levels. Its subtle enough at idle and granny driving, but the closer your foot gets to the floor the more agressive it sounds. I love it!

The MBRP turbo back sounds better than I imagined it would. Thanks for posting the vid.

The video does not do it justice. I shot the two videos on different days. the "after" was a windy day and my video cam tries to suppress the wind noise by lowering the sensativity.

Plus, goosing the throttle is cool but dropping the hammer while driving brings the sound to whole new level - very deep and throaty.

I will try to recruit someone to aim the cam out the back window during a 1/4 mile run. That should compell EVERY non MBRP owner to convert!!

Until then, check this out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Qwb1pBmwwvw
Not mine, but close enough.

He is right, the video does not do the sound justice. I dont have a programmer, but I can tell you, WOT is gnarly! Also, you can not hear the turbo on the video like you can if you are standing next to it. I would say you can kick the video sound up like 10 awesome levels compared to it in person. I am really amazed at stock with muff delete vs 4" straight pipe. I never thought the sound would be that different.

Now, if I just wasnt such a wuss about warranty issues and stuff, I would throw down the bucks for the sct from spartan!

great write up. I'm surprised you can't hear that much whistle on the video. If you want it even louder, just dump it under the cab. that's where it is in my vid.

New Exhaust in ACTION!!!

Finally shot a short video so you can hear it in motion.

check this out

kinda gives you a "tingle" doesnt it?

That sound makes the whole knuckle-busting 6 hours worth it.

That video is with Matt's Aggressive Race tune. Hopefully I will have another with his new "safer" Ultra Comp in it shortly.

I will say that that sound, combined with matt's butt-kicking tunes makes me drive in a not so economic way. My milage is down LOTS but who CARES!!!!

Question. I put 4" MBRP on my 06 F350 recently, turbo back with muffler and cat. I get no difference in sound over stock. Was amazed at how quiet it is. Is that normal when you have the MBRP muffler and leave the cat in (state requirement)? Thanks
