I gotta a Wisconsin 4V for you RC if you wannw put it in a little grocery getter. I did like the movie "Bugsy Malone" when I was a kid, and always wanted a 20's/30'2 styled rig with a little B and S or Wisconsin in it. It has a bellhousing and clutch on it too. The clutch can be disengaged with the pull of a lever, might be pretty neat to make a parade putter with.

Funny thing, no one seems to have a problem with someone putting a Hemi in anything... Saw this today. So it's a MoPar in a Ford, right? Nope. I think you'd be hard pressed to find one piece of this that has a Ford insignia on it (legitimately). Repro 'glass body, repro grille, custom frame. So who should be more PO'd, the Ford guys or the MoPar guys?!
(Photos' not loading??? Will try later It's a faux '32 roadster with a blown hemi)

In My Humble Opinion, the main reason for the "cookie cutter" method of putting a SBC in a Ford is simple. These guy's aren't REALLY Ford guys in their souls. The SBC swap is a cheap, down and dirty, easy way out !!!!!!! I know I'll get beat up for saying this, I don't CARE.... I have worked my AZZ of to get a 460 with a C-6 in my 47 Ford Coupe. NOBODY sells motor mounts for this swap, OH YEAH, I can get them for a 350 or 454 !!! That Sucks... So me and a buddy are fabricating mounts that allow my steering shaft to clear, headers to clear. At least when I'm done it'll be a Ford in a Ford, the way it ought to be. I get SO sick of going to Streetrod events and seeing all those SB Chevies in nice rods, YAWN !!! If guys took some extra time and ingenuity in the motor dept. They could have FoMoCo power, and it is a MYTH that a 454 will out perform a 460! John Kassee has proved that. I'll shut up now, I feel much better )

While we all recognize that Chevy engines have super support from vendors, and that they run good, it comes down to the spiritual side of your truck....
The engine is the "heart" of the truck. Having a Chevy in a Ford, or vice versa, is like (imagine) having a fine running baboon heart in a human body; it works, but somehow the heart should be in line with the body. Other parts aren't as important, but the heart! It do matter!
The Heartbeat of America in a Ford? WTF? (Where's the Ford)
: )

When I bought my '56 F100 it had a 283 SBC already in it; so I stuck with it. If it would have came without an engine-tranny, I would have went with a Ford Engine-tranny. I had 2 other '56s 20-or-so years ago and they both had SBC because of me being familiar with them and parts were easily accessable. If a mid fifty's Ford truck does not have it's original engine in it; then a 289-351-460 whatever is a transplant....and so is a SBC. When I visit Ebay or go to carshows; I notice that most of the 30s Fords either have original or a Flathead; but when it comes to transplant......mostly SBC. I have absolutely nuttin' against the Ford powerplant, Harleys, Jap-bikes, Mo-Peds or John Deeres,...... one can experience a lemon with any brand name on it. I love 'em all!

Old topic with no real answer. Opinions are the only answers to this question. To each his own, or her own, and yeah, something like that. It does get a little boring to everytime you see an old Ford truck sitting there in a car show, 90% or more have a GM motor of some sort. Most are a SBC, with the same TH350, TH400, or 700R4. It used to be real fun going to car shows...15 years ago or so, but it's all the same anymore, in all the categories. The Vettes all look the same, the Camaro's all look the same, the Effies all look the same, heck, even the Mustangs all llok the same. The Mopars are starting to all look the same too. It's just hard to find a truely unique ride anymore. Go diesel, or caddy motor, just not the Northstar, it's already been done. Try something other than the frenched headlights, or MII IFS. The same flip noses or getting boring too. You walk down one the aisle, and you see the tops of the hoods facing you, on almost all of the trucks. The individuality is being reduced to color, and not the rest of the build. I don't mind what ever you do, just do somthing different. That's why I gave up on the F-100 thru F-350 trucks. Going Big Job only (except dads '55 F-350 express). Everyone's got a F-100 or F-250, go to a big show, and there will be dozens of them. Even panels are all over the place. Go to a show, and count the number of Big trucks (and I don't mean the lifted 4x4 pavement queens that are useless). You won't see any, unless you go the shows set aside for big trucks only. Anyhow, my opinion, it's getting boring. The whole thing is getting boring. Maybe it's time for a new interest. Anyone want a '55 F-800 with a CAT 1160 diesel between the fenders? Joking....

I like the look of f100s why would I want it to look different? There are just so many thing that can be done to the same vehicle so of course they are going to resemble each other. All I or we can do is build our trucks to reflect our own wishes in what we want our rides to be, and how they make us feel when driving them.
