Oh yeah, that helps. Then again, we should of not assumed it was a y-block. The color could still be the red though, whether y-block or six.

I have a 58 F100 with the same colors as yours.
Faded out orange with cream / white valve covers.
Did you ever find the corect paint.
I see your post is 2005 but hope you can help.
How about catipiller orange?

Bummer, I was hoping Ira reappeared. He kinda disappeared in 2008 and his website is unchanged since then. He is/was doing a tremendous job restoring his family 1958, see link. Home

I think he is referring to the one in Ira's pics. It was an option 57-60 (for 6' beds), not hard to fabricate if you want to mount a spare like that. The 8' bed mounts under the bed, unless you put a gas tank there like I did.

Yeah, I saw that also. Based on the quality of his work and website, I suspect he is in a financial holding pattern like many of us find ourselves in from time to time. I also suspect that if he was progressing he would update his site. I'll try a PM thou.

Many of these questions can be answered by doing searches. The search function is very helpful. It lists previous discussions about the topic you search for. I did a search on, "spare tire mount" there are many hits. Here is one with several pictures. On you 60, these mounts would go on the inside of the bed. Try doing some searches.

thanks i look at that but their mount was on the outside of their flareside
but i have a styleside.
