Nice look, Greg. How much can you see in terms of where your bumper is?
I have a great view behind the truck with the camera mounted up high, but since it is recessed behind the handle it can't see down far enough to see the bumper or hitch so if you want to use a camera for hitching I would suggest a license plate frame with the camera built in or mounting the camera close to the bumper.
I am waiting for the Force Field option so no one can back into my truck or screw with it in parking lots.
A big heavy weight dist. hitch ball that sticks out about 12 inches projects a gravitational force field that will protect a rear bumper quite well. The closer an idiot driver comes to the bumper, the the higher the repelling force (square law, remember?). In fact the force can go so high at a real close approach as to cause damage to the offender's front bumper.
I have a camera mounted on top of the hitch under the bumper. It I have a great view from left to right for aligning trailers but because I am looking straight out, its hard to determine if the trailer tounge is directly over the ball.
I'd like to see of picture of the stock mount, maybe I can mod it with my camera. The new Tundra's have it as an option and mounted in the handle and the view of the hitch ball is great.
I just got my KR 450 last Thursday. I ordered the rear camera along with the back up sensors. I didn't think it cost that much, $150 maybe, can't remember what the sensor warning option was. I did that instead of getting the tailgate step option ($350) Ouch, I thought that was salty. I may eventually take my tailgate off to opt for a drop style gate for my 5th wheeler. I do want to fashion a camera in that tailgate as well. I really like having it, you even see your bumper, and it has a color grid in the display to show you where things are where you're backing.
