beacause i had a 360 flywheel.
I was going to use a 390flywheel with a 400's 12" clutch. but i had the 360 flywheel and hust decided to use it, so i got a 11" centerforce dual friction clutch, 90% stronger than stock.

I went that route on my 460 swap, told them(centerforce) the flywheel/trans I had, asked which clutch to use. I later called them again with another question, they asked why i used an 11" clutch, when they recommend the 12" with the 460. My setup held ok.

I think it has alot to do with how you drive, or use the clutch. if you are one of those ppl who cant keep your foot off the clutch, then the 12" might be best. but if you know how to use it right i dont see a thing wrong with the 11".
