Warranty Work At Montgomery, AL Ford

Just so you all should know, if you have to have warranty work done, don't think it is gonna be done in a week at the dealership in montgomery, al. Took the truck in on Saturday for heavy white smoke pouring out of the tail pipe, which would stop sometimes. The truck hasn't moved since I put it in the shop. I finally got a call back this morning from the service manager which told me there were 14 diesel trucks in front of mine. Makes me think twice about getting the new 7year/200,000 mile warranty from ford with this type of repair trouble. Still don't know what is causing the problem.

If you can get it to Carl Greggory Ford in Auburn, they should be able to get you taken care of quickly. I got my truck back today. They had if for less than 5 working days and their customer service was great. Kept me informed and the truck runs great.

That would be great other than I am afraid to drive it to Auburn with the way it is smoking.

I know what you are saying about not wanting to drive it far. There's another dealership on 85 North at the Alabama/Georgia line called Valley Ford. They always have a lot of Superdutys on their lot, so I would assume they probably have some good techs since they sell a lot of them.

I think that if I drive the vehicle off the service lot, they will flag it to protect themselves if something bad goes wrong. Maybe they just need time but It would have been great if they could have told me that 14 diesel's were in front of mine instead of acting like they could get to it that day or within a few days. I hope that it is a simple fix.

They can't flag your vehicle for taking it to someone else whether you drive it or tow it.

Tim's right.. If your not happy with the wait, grab it and go elsewhere.. Heck find someone in your area with a good truck that can pull you.. I've done it numerous times for friends.. I'm a booger when it comes to poor service, luckily I have a good dealership but it's a hike.. 40 miles from me to them..

Tell them to have it towed to the next closest dealership (if you think you'd be happy with the next one). It's not your fault they can't get to it. Also you could ask them to give you a loaner truck until they can get to yours.
